PICTURE THIS...an SUV pulls up to pigeon square, people jump out with Santa hats, handing out free Jewellery for all.

100’s of women have donated over 1000 pieces of Jewellery that will be recycled on December 24th, on the first annual “EmpoweRing Effect” Jewellery give away.

Why give Jewellery and not food?
The wonderful thing about receiving Jewellery is that it makes you feel like someone loves you, like someone cares…like your special...and everyone deserves to feel like that this Holiday Season
We know when people “receive” there is an effect that makes it’s way into the world that is impactful and immeasurable.

The EmpoweRing Effect is a fantastic program, because we are taking Jewellery which people no longer use , and encourage them to donate and recycle it in a way that empowers other women.Come and witness the true joy of “ Good things come in small packages”

For map/ times, info or interview requests please call Alla Hird at 604-626-8388 or

What is the EmpoweRing Effect and what happens to the Jewellery donated?

Jewellery will be gifted once a year to the Downtown East side women. These women may be living in shelters. They may be on Government Income Assistance, or they may be homeless. During the month of December these women will be gifted, and we will have a group of volunteers from Red Velvet Woman and Metropolitan Aromatherapy who agree to go down as a group and freely hand out this jewellery. This project will take place in Vancouver, BC., and is where we will start this Empowering Effect portion for the East side downtown women.
As mentioned, the jewellery will be handed out to various women, although there will be no requirement for them to receive the jewellery. It will simply be gifted on one day during the holiday season. We believe the effect of everyone’s actions trickles down and we know by doing previous work with the homeless in our city that they are extremely grateful to receive a gift or helping hand from others.
We feel that gifting the jewellery which has been donated, will encourage and inspire women to believe in themselves. It will make them smile and give them a sense of hope and let them know that people care. We want them to know, by talking to them, of the hope they can have in their lives and days. The feeling that knowing someone cares is very empowering and can make an incredible impact, and we want them to have a sense of this power. We believe that these gifts of jewellery, which has been generously donated by our customers and friends of the company will have an instilling effect not only on their self-esteem, but how they look at the world and how they feel about the world that they are presently living in. We are starting this aspect of the Effect Program in Vancouver BC and will, as needs grow, hope to be able to do the same in other cities.
